Wow.  Ever been to Vegas for 5 days?  Well, let's just say I need a vacation to recover from my
vacation!  I learned the hard way that any evening that starts with drinking frozen margaritas out
of a 4 foot tall plastic Eiffel tower is BAD! haha!  So touristy!  I was so surprised to see just how
HUGE and CROWDED It was there.  We stayed at the Orleans hotel and casino off the strip and
there was a shuttle from the strip to their hotel.  Getting there was a feat as each hotel takes up
an entire city block or more.  Just immense.  We decided that we like the old part of Vegas
ALOT better and plan on staying on Freemont street the next time we go.  Little cooler, little
funkier...just our style.

We did fairly well at our poker tournaments.  First did not go well (see above mention to 4 foot
tall frozen margaritas) but we did play a huge tournament at the Bellagio.  I came in 4th for a
satellite tournament (win your way into the big tournament for a cheaper price)...top 3 got seats
in the tournament *cry*.  John came in 17th out of 60 for the big tournament.  It was only after
that we learned that mostly pros play that tournament because the payout is so huge ($16,000
for first place), so we were pretty proud of the way we played!

I, of course, forgot my camera (have to forget SOMETHING right??) so all our pictures are on
this little disposable camera that I still have to get the pics developed on.  I'll post pics as soon
as I do that.  My feet are also recovering from wearing my fancy-schmancy shoes all week.
We tried to dress well for the tournaments and again, were amazed at how many people dress
like they are heading to the grocery store on a Saturday afternoon.

We went to the "Tournament of Kings" at the Excaliber at what a FUN FUN show that is.  Cheap
too ($55 a person) for a dinner and a show...but you have to scream and yell and bang on the
tables and eat with your fingers! haha!  SOOOOOOO much fun! Enough about Vegas.......lets talk
beads!

All my specials that have been on the Friday Glassworks have been moved to their appropriate
series at their regular price. Thanks to everyone that ordered and as always...I'd LOVE to see
what you make with my beads!  I still have 2 or 3 pics I need to post in the Designers Gallery
(sorry guys!)..I'll try to do that this week.

I do have a
NEW SPECIAL under Friday Glassworks that will run through the end of August.  I'll
move it to a special spot eventually...but for now, I'm just gonna keep it there.  Couple of sets
under
Buy-it-now and getting ready to list an ebay set...as soon as I get a picture.  I'll give you a
hint though......classic black and white that is NOT cooperating while being photographed!

Until next time..have a great weekend!

Happy Monday everyone!!  Well, I've survived the virus invasion...and have been spending the
last 3 days working in getting all my old programs re-installed, etc.  Icky Icky. On the lighter side...
the new version of the web-builder I use has some fun fonts and features that weren't there
before. Yehaw!!!   Bear with me if some fonts are funky on some of the pages, working on
getting everything "the same" again!

Well, the trivia question for July is now UP with some fun, whimsical beads for that end of
summer blast!  Click

No big news to report on this lovely Friday afternoon!  Been working in the yard and trying to
tame the weed-monster that lives in the flower bed in front of the house.  I slept like a rock last
night after weeding all day.  I have the mulch. It's sitting on my front walk way.  Maybe I'll get to
it later today.  Maybe.

As you can see, I've messed with the site a little. Same look, just rearranged a bit. Kinda like
when you want a change, but can't afford new furniture, so you move everything around! haha!
I've been doing this in the house too (my filing cabinet from my office is now my bedside table! (It
has a nice little tablecloth on it though...so nobody can tell..shhhhhh).  I think it's because I'm
missin' Kyle. He's been gone 4 weeks this week and dang do I miss the little booger. Aside from
being my studio slave...er...helper *chuckles*...he's just a fun kid to have around.  I'll be going to
pick him up the first week in August and I can't wait!

I have a special
Friday Glassworks today. Something I've never done before...a single focal bead!!
I've been invited to be a frit tester for
Glass Diversions (thanks Robin!!) and have had so much
fun playing with the frits.  I'm going to need a 12 step program for frit pretty soon!  So, I've been
working with it and trying to fit it into my style...which I think I've been able to do!  See my tests
here.

Summer is definately a buyers market so take advantage of the current pricing on the beads
still up in Friday Glassworks.  I also have several ebay auctions up right now, so be sure to take
a peek!

Everyone have a GREAT weekend! for the July Trivia question.

I have some new sets up in the
Manhattan Series and Tahoe Series.  Some fun beads in classic
colors that are  up for order through the next week at the "intro" price as well under
Friday
Glassworks.
There is also one new set up in
Buy-it-now!

On the good news side...guess who's goin to VEGAS BABY? yeahhhhhhhh!  We are going on the
23rd through the 28th and will be visiting the Grand Canyon for a day!  Johnny is so
excited...that boy needs a vacation like nobody I've ever seen! He works so hard and this is his
first "real" vacation that he's taking JUST for himself.  Personal growth is a beautiful thing!
Have a great night everyone and be sure to check in in the morning for new ebay auctions!!

Just a quick-and-ugly update.

I have a MONSTER VIRUS with popups that I cannot control and this lovely message as my
wallpaper:

Security Warning:
A Fatal error as occurred....blah blah computer gobbledygoop I can't understand.

I can't access the internet at all and every time I reboot...about 10 more short-cuts for
pharmaceuticals, dating services, and ads to enlarge parts that I don't have...show up on my
screen. I can't access any of my bookmarks (ie: Yahoo, and eBay)  All I get is a blank
page...so..the point of this...to let you know that I will not be accessible until tomorrow afternoon.
We are completely wiping the computer tomorrow and will be re-installing EVERYTHING!

How did I get this monster virus do you ask?  Well...
Lets just say....
If you ABSOLUTELY have to see paparazzi pictures of Brad Pitt (yummylicious) and Angelina
Jolie on a beach...GO BUY A MAGAZINE! *sigh*

And...of much greater importance...

Please say a prayer for those in London and worldwide who were affected by today's events.

Thanks! And have a great virus-free evening!

Updated  July 5, 2005
Well, I hope everyone had a fun fun holiday weekend.  I know we did!  Spent most of the
weekend on the back of Johnny's motorcycle!  Lots of barbeques, lots of sun....ahhhh...summer
rocks!  The best was on Sunday. We went to a friend of Johnny's...that one friend that we all
have that always has the coolest stuff...the best food.  Well, he truly outdid himself this time
with BBQ ribs, scallops and oysters (which I don't eat...but everyone said they were faboo!),
grilled veggies and the best garlic bread I've ever had!  We got to talking about Iron Chef (one of
my guilty pleasures) and I challenged the host to a "cook-off" *scream*.  See what happens
when you have one too many Coronas.  Yikes!  I'll be sure to let you know if anything comes of
it.

He also had us all completely glued to his computer with this:
Now....warning...before you click this....be sure you have an hour of free time because you will
need it. This is without a doubt one of the niftiest thing I've ever ever ever seen.  You do have to
download a program...but it's worth it! Ok...you've been warned!

Google Earth

I have the next trivia question in my head....but no picture of the beadies yet. I've been quite
inspired at the torch lately and have made tons and tons and tons of beads....and when that
happens....there tends to be a backlog in the bead cleaning department.  I use a hand-held
diamond bead reamer vs. the Dremel most lampworkers use.  I do this because I'm not one of
those people that needs to handle power tools on a regular basis. I launched a bead across the
room and smacked the cat once.  I still manage to poke the snot out of my fingers with the
handheld reamer!  So, hopefully this week I'll get the new question posted. I want to thank
EVERYONE who answered and entered...it was so much fun reading the responses!  The answer
and winner are to the left!

Well, I have exactly 2 days of work left for the summer.  Yup. It all dried up again...but that's ok.
Playing with fire is way more fun...so look for my productivity to be much higher than the past
couple of months. I don't have any shows scheduled until October and once I get through the
next two days....I get to go full-throttle again!

Well, everyone have a great short-week and be sure to check in for more specials and auctions!

July 1, 2005
Hi Everyone and thanks for bearing with me!  Turned out to be a gorgeous day vs the scorching
heat we've had the last week or so...so I took advantage of it and weeded the tomato garden!
Yep...we've got baby tomatoes out there...Can't wait to start making some salsa!

I've late, but nonetheless...STILL on Friday...gotten the beads up for today.  Something a little
different.....

These beads are a result of a very frustrating week at the torch.  But lo and behold...as anyone
knows...sometimes inspiration comes from nothing.

I've been writing an article and one of the things I covered was how I came to be a
lampworker...which goes all the way back to when I was a kid and travelled with my family to
Venice.  Well, that got me nostalgic (and gave me an excuse to procrastinate) and I dug out
some old pictures I took from college. One thing led to another, and this series was born.  That's
right...an entire series from one moment of inspiration.  There are more beads to this...but frankly,
it took me eons to get a decent picture of these...that I'll be posting them later.

What I'm doing this week is something a little different...it's actually going to be for 2 weeks
because of the holiday weekend here in the US and Canada.  I'll be putting more pictures of
beads from this series up throughout the next two weeks and for the entire month of July...I'm
offering the sets at a discounted price from what will be eventually listed on the site.

So check it out and check it often...I'm completely full of ideas for this series...so I plan on posting
LOTS of beads in the next two weeks!  I'll also be announcing the winner of the trivia contest on
Tuesday (after the holiday)

Have a great weekend!!
