Hi Everyone!  Are we all geared up for the 4th of July Weekend? WooHoo!

Just a quick update today to remind you..today is the LAST day to answer the
trivia question to win the beadies just to the left....yummy yummy orange and
pink!! Hot! Hot! Hot!

I also have a new ebay auction up...click the eBay auction link to see and I'll be
posting more in coming days!

I have alot more I want to say...but the torch is calling me today. Some days I
just can't get enough...other days....well, lets just say the torch isn't my friend!

See you in the morning!!

June 24, 2005
Good morning and happy Friday!  Ok...I learned a lesson yesterday.  Don't drive
450 miles with the windows open and the sunroof open.  I am sooooo
sunburned...call me lobst-ah!  And to top it off...farmer tan...oh yeah...good stuff
*rolls eyes*

Thanks to everyone for all your responses to the trivia question!  I have TONS
of responses already and can't wait to draw a name...so if you haven't entered
yet...click here and email me the answer!

Friday glassworks is UP and a little different today. I got carried away with a
color combination and the set ended up being huge(22 beads!)...so I broke up
the set into 3 so you can buy what you want for your needs (includes a set of
pairs only if you do mostly earrings!)

Thanks for checking in...it's going to be a scorcher today and because of my
little roasting yesterday...I may or may not finally weed the flower bed out
front.  It looks AWFUL...I really should........:)

Have a great Friday!

June 22, 2005
Hello there everyone!  Another week almost gone...again! haha!  Finished up my
special orders tonight and have been working on getting into a show...I was
told they had spots as long as I didn't have jewelry....so...I've been stalking the
hardware store (try asking if what you want to use will hold up to 1400 degree
temps...you get some funny looks)..but found a guy who does glass work and
actually had a CLUE what I was talking about ! haha!  So anyhoo...I've been
working on making Bead Pens, Wine stoppers, Drawer pulls (have some very
very cool ones), Ceiling fan pulls, and finials.   Talk about a fish out of water...I
have to make these beads BIG! haha!  Considering my average bead is around
7mm by 9mm...this is quite the feat.  I'll be sure to post pics when I'm done...I
want to send the pics out by Saturday, so I'll be hustling Friday.

Long day tomorrow...it's that time of year again for the annual trek to the
ex-husbands.  My son will be spending 6 weeks in Illinois this year, so I won't
be available to answer emails or post.

Another sad day yesterday...my 15 year old kitty, Giggles,  passed away from
kidney failure.  Both kitties in 3 weeks.  Major sadness yesterday...the doc says
she died from the kidney failure...and it was "kicked into gear" because she
didn't eat for a couple of days after Ripley died...and that caused her kidneys to
stress...making the failure that was looming take over.  She died peacefully in
my arms.  Giggles was my snuggle kitty, she was always on your lap, snuggled
in your neck and giving kisses.  John will miss her too as she definately
favored him over me. No plans for any pets right now.

Everyone have a great end of the week...and I'll be checking in later!

Well, seems as though posting my goals makes absolutely no difference
whatsoever! haha! I DID get everything done...just not on Friday!  This weekend
was CRAZY!  Huge motorcycle ride on Saturday....those are so fun and I highly
recommend you go on one at some point in your life!  We had close to 2000
bikes and shut down the northern suburbs.  In Detroit the streets are all in
blocks and the streets stretch for 50 miles from one end of town to the other.
We shut down 16 mile road from Telegraph to Gratiot to all N/S traffic.
There were two types of people on the side of the road....the happy, fun people
who were waving and smiling...and the ones that were NOT happy about their
delay.   Let me tell ya...the latter people need to lighten up.  Maybe buy a
bike...learn to enjoy life instead of being angry over a delay.   A friend took
some pics I'll post later.

On the bead front.....
HOLD ON TO YOUR SEATS!  I KNOW I have been a huge slacker this past month
thanks to acclimating to doing shows, work, etc blah blah blah so I really
hustled today and have a few things to share:

New ebay auction
Trivia question is up (just left in the purple box)
*NEW*
Buy-it-now-sets
(button is on the top navigation bar)
I decided that since ebay is ridiculously fickle...I am going to start listing more
sets here vs there...and whatever doesn't sell...goes into the show jar..so grab
them if you like them!

I
t's FRIDAY again!!  Today is the first day in close to three weeks where I have
felt relaxed and IN CONTROL of everything that needs to be done around here!
I'm still holding on to the "day job" for now...but I seriously feel as though I can
let that go in the very near future.  The current contract I have only lasts
**maybe** through July...and like before, I'll be less-than-actively looking for
another contract.

I've received some very interesting and fabulous offers in the past month or so
including a request to write an article in a lampworking magazine and an
invitation to a HUGE wholesale show .  I also met with a gallery/bead store
owner yesterday and we've scheduled a demonstration/lecture at her gallery
on August 10th!  I'll post details later or shoot me an email if you live in the
Metro Detroit area and would be interested in attending.  I've always worked in
Turbo-mode (graduate school with a 3 year old and a full-time job 10 years
ago...how did I survive THAT?) and seems my life always takes me in that
direction.  I love it! :)

Believe it or not....Friday Glassworks are actually going up on FRIDAY! haha!  I
also have the beads for the promised trivia give-away cooking in the kiln. I was
completely in "the zone" last night...then took a break to call my BF who got
called in to work at 1am ON HIS DAY OFF (*snarl*)...and lost the "zone"...so I
cleaned todays beads...trolled a little on the internet until close to 4am.   I also
sat for awhile with Giggles...my 15 year old kitty. About a week after Ripley
died, she started acting sick.  Vet ran some tests on Monday and says she is
in kidney failure and there isn't alot we can do for her.  She has picked a comfy
spot in the basement and hobbles out at night to snuggle...so I visit with her
every hour or so...I will VERY much miss her when she's gone.

I JUST answered the door and the "sissy bar" for the motorcycle just got here!!
yay! For those that don't ride...this is basically the bar at the back of the seat
that keeps me from sliding right off the bike....we have a huge ride tomorrow
that should prove to be fun!  I even promised to buy chaps. (John already has
them and has suffered through some pretty awful YMCA/Villiage People jokes
from me).

Welp, I guess that's enough rambling...my goals for today:
~get eBay auctions listed
~Finish outstanding special orders
~Finish and send out newsletter
~Post trivia question and prize

(Lets see if posting my goals publicly makes me actually DO them! LOL!)
Have a great weekend everyone!

HOLY SMOKES!  Ever feel like you'vejust ridden a roller coaster in a tornado???
If you answered yes...then you have done a show! haha!  What a FUN FUN
weekend!  Having got the spot at the last minute..I literally had to throw the
whole she-bang together overnight then work the show all day Saturday after
ONE hour of sleep.  WHEW!  Felt like I was in college again...minus the hangover
of course!

Although many were saying traffic wasn't good, after last weekend's fiasco...it
was a complete success in my eyes.  And if you were wondering how that
show went...well, let's just say the 2 for $5 jewelry and the buzzing light saber
guys did REAL well. What a joke.  But I did get the opportunity this weekend to
talk to the gentleman who puts together a show book and told him about the
show and that it is marketed as an art/craft show but is actually a carnival.
Funnel cake anyone? *rolling eyes*

I met some fantastic people this weekend...sold some jewelry...had about 4 too
many corn dogs...and am about the happiest I've ever been!  I can't wait for the
next one!

As for not posting the Glassworks last night...I do apologize, but I could barely
put a sentence together coherently when I got home...updating the webbie was
not a do-able task.   I fell asleep on the couch before the sun went down.

Anyhoo...the beads are UP now and I plan on hitting the torch this week..big
time!  I have SO Many ideas running through my head and can't wait to get to
the torch!

Everyone have a GREAT week!!

June 11.2005
Good Morning everyone!! Just a quick note to update you on what's going on in
my oh-so-exciting world! haha!  Well, first and foremost...sorry about no
update or glassworks yesterday.  We had a freak storm here Wednesday that
left me without power until Thursday evening and no reliable internet until late
last night.  Internet would work for 5 mins...not work for 5 hours...you get the
picture!

Well...anyhoo...I HAVE the Friday Glassworks beads...but won't be posting them
until tomorrow.  No electricity means no kiln...which means no beads...so they
are cooling in the kiln as we speak.

Also, I got a last minute spot at a great show this weekend (its 6:29 am right
now on a Saturday Morning! hahaha!) and will be there thru Sunday. I'll fill you in
on the disaster that was last weeks show when I get back!

Have a great weekend everyone!

June 3, 2005
Happy Friday everyone!  Well, the day that has kept me away and seriously
sleep deprived for the last month is finally here! That's right...SHOW DAY!  I will
be decidedly absent and unavailable for the next 3 days.  I will be coming home
at night...but considering the show ends tonight at 11pm and starts up again at
8am tomorrow...chances of me doing anything but CRASHING are slim to none.
I think I have a good inventory and hope to do well..it *IS* my first show
after-all...so my fingers are crossed!  If you are in the Metro Detroit area...stop
by to see me at the Grosse Ile Island Fest thru Sunday!

I know I didn't post any Friday Glassworks last week...between my Ripley
passing on and being sick...I feel like an entire week just went *poof*...but I'm all
better now..running in standard turbo mode.  I have a sorta-set up....check out
the link to find out what THAT means!  haha!

Special orders:  If you have a special order...it is DONE!  I just need to inspect
and mail out.  Expect an email from me early next week with shipping
details...and THANKS for your patience.

Anyhoo...I actually have LOTS more to talk about..but I have to scoot..the show
is an hour and change from the house and I need to go set up!

Thanks everyone and have a GREAT weekend!
