Quick little update! I've been without a keyboard since Tuesday night..so no updates..I couldn't even check my email!
So...like a good girl, I buy a new one on Tuesday...guess what....THE P KEY DIDN'T WORK. That's right...the 'p' key as
well as those little bracket keys right next to the 'p'.  So...Wednesday comes....snow. Lots of it and apparently...the IQ's of
everyone in the metro Detroit area went down at least 10 points...or at the VERY least....only those with learning permits
were on the road.  So...45 minutes and 4 miles into the quest for Best Buy (Toys R Us for grown-ups)...turned right back
around and got home safely....minus a working keyboard.  Thursday...turkey day and triptophan coma.  Friday...hangover
from feeling as though I MUST try all the wine at Grandma's house AND a blitz shopping spree thanks to John's mom.
Went shopping..and guess what. I FORGOT TO BUY A KEYBOARD!!  So...long story short...got my tushie out in the snow
this morning and voila! New keyboard!  I apologize for not answering emails until this morning

I'll update a bit more later...but we are off for dinner with friends so I can show off my new duds! :)

Ahhh Saturday is officially Harry Potter day here in the Barragan-Spurlin-Quasarano Household!  Just bought tickets for
the 6:20 show and Kyle can barely contain himself.  Bad report card or not...I wanna see the movie...so he's "off
grounding" for today! ha!

The "teacher soap opera" plot keeps thickening. I finally got a "time" from the teacher when to call her back....she said
she is usually in around 7:30 am. I called. I called. I called. Finally..someone answers her classroom phone at 7:50..goes
to tell the teacher who it is and guess what she said....she was BUSY can I call her back? WTF!!  THEN....get a call about
Kyle forgetting his planner from another teacher....THEN the counselor calls and says the school wants to have a
meeting because "it sounds like the teachers are in contact with you and the problems aren't getting resolved".
WHAT?!?!?!?!? ONE call from one teacher and perpetual phone tag with another does NOT constitute contact. I'm
hopping mad and sticking to my guns. NO meeting. I will not be ambushed yet again until the TEACHERS make an effort
to contact me in earnest.  (Have you ever had a school meeting about your kid? If so...you know what I mean when I say
ambush)  This was the first...THE FIRST week I asked for progress reports (which...of course...Kyle left in his freaking
locker)...I'm not too popular at the school right now...but meetings aren't going to solve anything. Let me know what my
kid is doing..and we'll work on it. MUST we do it as a group project?? Sheesh.

Haven't had much torch time this week. Finishing up (starting??) some special orders...so nothing new I'm afraid.  Working
4 days this past week caused a serious bout of couch-itis.  One day was a 130 mile round trip drive.  Trying to get all the
work I can right now...who knows how long it will last...so trying to take advantage of it.

Happy birthday to me on Wednesday! I've given all the appropriate people the appropriate lists! haha!

Have a good weekend!

Current Happenings November 14, 2005

Didn't make it to the store for my new-found addiction today. Spent a good chunk of the day waiting for Kyle's teacher
to return a phone call. I waited. I waited. I waited.  It wouldn't be that big of a deal...except this is the 3rd time I've
called her and left a message to call me back!  Kyle just got his report card and lets just say I'm not a happy
mama....and the teacher isn't returning my calls. *sigh*  I've decided I'm going to give her the "benefit of the doubt"
until Thursday...my next day off...then mama is going to the school to raise hell.  I'll keep you posted (you may also get
to hear a RANT-and-a-half about this school!)!

I couldn't get a better picture of that bicone. The glass refuses to photograph well..but it is a GORGEOUS garnet
red...just stunning! Ya'll start voting and to make up for the icky pic...I'll throw in some Garnets from my personal
collection to make up for it!  I have some goooorgeous Diamond shaped faceted edge Garnets..yummmmm.

I have 2 new auctions up on
ebay and some new beadies in Specials! I played with a fun technique for "faux boro" that
was toooo fun.  It's all I did yesterday and all I plan on making tonight....expect some focals/bicones...something BIG! :)

Have a great week...may be later this week before I check in again. Real work. Bleah.

What a blustery gorgeous day!  Nice and warm...lots of wind! Fishing the deck chairs off of the lawn again!
Some new beadies in the
Specials Section as well as some unbelievable "faux" boro cooking in the kiln.  If they look
half as good when they come out as they did going in...I am going to be one happy girl in the morning!

I found a supplier that has tons of silver goodies that I'm contemplating an order from.  Since taking Tink's class...my
head is literally spinning with ideas!  Just need some supplies...but tomorrow I'm taking a field trip to my favorite local
supply store to check their prices. I just may be in business by tomorrow! Yehawwwwwwww!

Please pardon the icky picture to the left of that bicone. It is a gorgeous deep red that just gets all washed out with the
lights that I have. I'll take a picture outside tomorrow to capture the beautiful color in this bead...very very classic and
rich.

It is 10:42 and my son is still doing his homework.  Is procrastination an inheritable gene?  I have to give him
"mom-hell" all the time...but you KNOW I'm just as bad as he is.  No wonder parenting is so hard!

Time to hit the torch for another hour before my annealing cycle starts at midnight....

Later!

Got my new minor in the mail today!

I may sleep with it..goodness knows I've fondled it enough to take that next step! I love my new torchie! I purchased this
from
Lori Robbins who makes unbelievable beads and is a tremendously talented artist.  She promises her good mojo is
on this torch...so I'm expecting nothing but super spectacular beads when I fire this baby up!

Progress on the new studio is moving along at a snails pace.....It is alot of work! It's a hurry up and wait game as all the
pieces parts are on order or in transit.  I think my mom is buying me an oxygen concentrator for my birthday!  *crosses
fingers* She called today and was asking ALL SORTS of questions...and said she will definately be contributing to the
"studio fund".  Love my Mommy! *smiles*

As I'm sure you noticed...there are some changes to the site!  Thought I would make the "initial" page a short cut to
certain frequently visited pages.  I like the clean look of it...we'll see how long it takes for me to change it! ha!

I've also added a new section to Custom Orders named "
Team Colors".  These are "letter beads" that can spell out
anything you want. Fabulous for gifts for that "hard to buy" person on your list!

Lots of beadies tomorrow...I have been playing with Bullseye again along with some purty frit...so look for goodies
tomorrow and a bigger update...I'll have the winners of the October Trivia question and the "vote for me" bead as well
as a new trivia question ( I changed my mind...it is fun isn't it?)

Sorry about the big ol' box here....but I did something icky and I can't shrink it. I'm such a techno-dork.

Until tomorrow!

Current Happenings:  November 6, 2005

Just a quick update before "Desperate Housewives" starts...anyone else get a good cry once a week
watching "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"?  What a fabulous show..I almost feel guilty thinking
about how HOT Ty is.  Sweet, giving, and a hunk. Oh la la. Aside from my weakness for this guy, the
show is truly inspirational and is so wonderful to show the GOOD side of people.

Had a busy weekend with Poker Season starting up again *snort* Yeah..I said it. Poker season.  We
had a house full of fun on Saturday. I actually placed 4th...which meant I got my money back. Not too
shabby, but still not profitable. Maybe this is why it's called gambling eh?  The house is a mess, but I
LOVE it...it reminds me that we have so many friends! We had one person show I up I don't care
for...but tolerate. She came to dinner...then left. Everyone else pays a "house" $10 to help cover the
meal and liquor (something THEY insisted we do because we put on quite the shebang).  This is one
of those "friends" that is there when she wants something(like wanting free passes to an event then
getting mad because she doesn't get them)...she's a user..and she's mean..and I don't like her (does it
show???) I'm nice...and put up with it because she's a mutual friend of some of our friends...neither
one of us cared for it though.  She's not what I call a real friend. She's a convenient friend.  Shows up in
her $80 jeans and $200 purse and won't pay $10 like everyone else. Which leads to the difference
between real friends and convenient friends...If I were to brag about spending 1/2 Million dollars on
real estate and $60,000 on a new car and then ask my "friends"for money for gas...I'd expect my
"friends" to smack me upside my head. That's what REAL FRIENDS are for...to call you out when you
are being a weinie.  Now lending me $20 to get in the next cash game....that's another story! *snort*

I've been working on the site and the "Guilty Pleasures" section is UP and full of goodies. Send my your
links, etc. you'd like to share. You get credit, a link to your webbie, and entered to win a goodie every
month...goodie tba...I don't have anything to spare right now..but really wanted to get this up and going.

No torching today...it was SO windy (did you see the storms that went through the midwest??) and I
have to open the garage door for ventilation.  Goodies later this week with an auction going up later...as
soon as I clean the beadies!

Thanks for checking in!

November 2, 2005
Ahhhh...a new month a clean blog spot.  I have some faboo faboo news...I finally got the green light to
move my set-up inside out of the frigid freezing spider and
raccoons-like-to-hide-in-it-and-scare-the-bejeepers-outta-me infested garage. Gotta get someone out
here to knock out the glass block window in the basement before it snows...that's on the project list for
next week!  Ventilation first and foremost...gotta be safe! So that's good news!

Also some good news...Johnny came in 7th in the poker tournament in Vegas...$2600.  I was thinking
the first prize was $10,000...it was $50,000.  No WONDER he sounded SO NERVOUS when I talked to
him on Saturday.  But he got caught speeding and didn't win.  (speeding: getting a big head after a
good hand and getting caught bluffing..also known as being "on tilt".)

New free beads for November with a twist....I am not even ranked on the Top-25 or Artzee site...help me
out guys! :)  So...instead of trivia...I'll be giving away a weekly something for voting!

I've also noticed so many of you have thoughts, phrases, quotes at the bottom of your emails. I thought
it would be kinda groovy to have a page where I could put things you send me..for those times (we all
get) when we are in a funk, crabby, or our muse has taken a vacation.  I'm going to call it "guilty
pleasures" and it will be on the bar to the left.  Anyhoo...once a month, I'll draw for free beads for
anyone that sends me a quote, quip, pic, etc. that I add.

If you need any findings, gemstones, etc...be sure to check out my auctions for some of stash. Since
I've stopped making jewelry..I have alot sitting around I'll never use...and I have a new studio to finance!

My stash on ebay

I feel like I have tons more to say...but "Wife Swap" is on and I just HAVE to watch this woman's
meltdown from the beginning. I love reality TV.  :)
